why remarketing matters

I’ll bet that no-one reading this expects a single exposure of a marketing message to lead to sales. This is because in marketing, repetition matters- big time! In fact, the whole premise of Frequency (the number of times each person views your ad) as a metric, is based on its importance. Repetition is so important in marketing because it not only creates brand awareness and familiarity with your products and/or services but it also helps to keep your brand top-of-mind. Within the digital marketing world, remarketing is a great weapon to have in your arsenal to help you increase website visits and ultimately conversions through repetition.

how remarketing works

Essentially, remarketing is made possible by tracking website visitors and serving your ads to them in an online environment. Different platforms track users in different ways; Google uses cookies to track user behavior while Facebook uses pixels (for more information on how Cookies and Pixels work check out our article here). Remarketing campaigns use this data to serve ads to people who have previously visited your website or used your app. This can become very detailed and advanced, but for now, let’s look at a simplified example.
